I will be offering Holiday Mini Sessions in both Raleigh and Wilmington this Fall! This is a great opportunity to get some updated family photos, just in time for holiday cards and gifts! Mini Sessions are 30 minutes, and produce approximately 20-40 proofs. The session fee is $50, and the entire CD of digital files is available at a special price of $150.

I’ll be in Wilmington for Beach Sessions on Sunday, October 13th and Raleigh for Park Sessions on Saturday, November 2nd. As many of you all know, I’ve been doing this for SOOOOO long, I just need to do something new and fun! And, one of the things I love the most is reading with my boys. So, on Sunday, October 27th, I’ll be doing a literacy themed “Read with Me” Fundraiser. I’ll have a cozy set up with quilts, blankets, trunks, books, and more for your family to snuggle up with. Of course, you’re welcome to bring your own favorite books as well. To make sure that everyone gets the best of both worlds, we’ll still get some more traditional shots during these sessions, and I’ll have some of the props available at the other two Mini Session dates!

I’m also offering “Christmas in the City” sessions this year at Mini Session rates! We’ll go explore an urban area in late November/early December with all of the glittering holiday lights! City Market in Raleigh, the Durham Tobacco Campus, Downtown Wilmington, Cary or Apex, are all beautiful options.

Let me know if you have any questions, or would like to set something up! kate@littlelightphoto.com/ 317.702.5236holiday2013

Wow, this wedding was such a wonderful experience and we are so honored to have been included! Sara and Erik were married in New Orleans, and New Orleans weddings are truly one of a kind! This one was even more special because Erik’s mom, Lisa, is a wonderful friend of my mom’s, and has been so great to me over the years, too. They used to be neighbors, but a few years ago, Lisa and her husband John moved to California and my mom was heartbroken. My parents were also so honored to be invited as it was mostly a family only affair, and enjoyed visiting with Lisa and John and the rest of the crew. To add to all of that, a few years ago I also photographed Lisa’s brother Jay’s wedding to the beautiful Stephanie. So, it was wonderful to spend time with them again, too! We enjoyed meeting Sara’s family, too! The details were wonderfully planned, and that is so important with a destination wedding. Their guests not only were treated to a wonderful celebration of their marriage, but also to a fantastic long weekend in an amazing city! We really enjoyed working with Get Polished Events during their wedding as well! They not only assisted with the planning, but also hair and make-up. Of course, the bride and groom are both gorgeous, and just so sweet. Their happiness was so apparent the entire weekend. And, the dress. I LOVE this dress! Not everyone could pull this off, but Sara truly looked amazing! Ok, on to the images…

The ceremony took place in Jackson Square, in front of the beautiful St. Louis Cathedral. I loved that so many people stopped to watch!

And, on to the second line! Seriously, this New Orleans tradition is one of my favorite things in the whole wide world! Their second line parade went all through the French Quarter, and was so much fun as people along the streets really got into it!

I always love the opportunity to photograph my three adorable nieces when we go to visit! Grace was one of my early subjects when she was a baby. Wow, it’s hard to believe she’s about to be in third grade! She is quite the fashionista and loves to strike “model poses”! Shelby was born just two days before Mack, and is seriously such a sweet little girl. She told me over and over again how she wants to come to North Carolina so she can hold my new baby when he’s born! And, Emma… there are almost no words for Emma! She is spunky and fiesty, and yes she has short hair because she chopped it all off herself. She keeps everyone laughing for sure!

And just one more, because hanging out with my youngest brother is sometimes surprisingly similar to hanging out with my crazy five year old… 🙂

I have so many adorable clients! This little guy has to be one of the cutest babies I have photographed in the decade I’ve been doing this professionally. Now, that’s saying a lot, because I have seen my fair share of cute babies! But, he is just beyond cute. Seriously, those cheeks, those lips, those chubby little hands and feet, and of course, those big blue eyes…

This was a very special session because dad had been serving overseas (THANK YOU!!) and this was their first family portrait together. So sweet! And, I really enjoyed shooting at Jordan Lake with all the Fall colors. I hope to have more clients interested in shooting there!

“Love is not what makes the world go round, it is what makes the ride worthwhile.” – Elizabeth Browning

Someone sent me this quote today, and I just love it! As I always say, I feel so blessed that I get to celebrate the love in my clients’ lives – engagements, weddings, babies, families. Thank you so much for letting me capture the moments and people that make your ride worthwhile! Happy Valentine’s Day! xoxo

Oh, and PS, It’s 70 degrees today!! Time to start thinking about Spring portrait sessions! I promise, some info is coming soon!!
